Business Advisory Council Background:
OCA has benefited from partnerships with Corporate America for many years. This partnership is reflected formally by the OCA Business Advisory Council, or BAC. Over the years, Fortune 500 companies such as McDonald’s, State Farm, UPS, Wells Fargo and many others have been active participants on the BAC.
OCA has provided these companies with opportunities to recruit diverse talent, learn about the issues that affect the APA community, highlight their brands in the community, and advise companies on ad campaigns, slogans, caricatures, etc. that would be offensive to the community.
In return, these companies have supported OCA programs through sponsorship, scholarship, and technical advice and assistance. Depending on the corporate structure, these might include community development officers, regional marketing managers, division presidents, and ERG leaders.
OCA Background:
Founded in 1973 as the Organization of Chinese Americans, OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. OCA embraces the hopes and aspiration of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. Based in Washington D.C. , OCA National is an effective vantage point for monitoring legislation and policy issues affecting Asian Pacific Americans. OCA takes no collective position on the policies of any foreign country, but focuses only on the welfare and civil rights of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. Today, OCA National is fully staffed and it is the only National Asian American organization that has its own National center. See www.ocanational.org.

As a major national organization, OCA believes that it is essential to identify and honor "role models" who can inspire all of us, especially the younger generation.
OCA-Chicago is built by dedicated individuals to support the OCA National mission and agenda with a local focus. It is one of 47 active OCA chapters. See www.ocachicago.org .
